[Higashi Omi] Demon Slaying

Higashiomi

Thank you for visiting my blog

Setsubun is celebrated on February 3rd every year.

When you think of Setsubun, you probably imagine people wrapping beans around themselves to drive away demons.

A large kite associated with this demon-slaying story will be exhibited at the Higashiomi Giant Kite Hall.

Giant kites are a famous tradition in Yokaichi Ward, Higashiomi City, and are designated as a national intangible folk cultural asset.

(Kites are also flown at the Coming of Age Ceremony every year.)

It is an enjoyable facility with giant demon-themed kites and kites from all over the world on display.

The giant kite covering an area of 100 tatami mats is a spectacular sight.

Please take this opportunity to visit us.
